Last week

(Last updated: Wednesday 15th February)

Well the salmon season on Stirling Council Fisheries is well and truly underway. The season kicked off on Wednesday 1st February where celebrity angling star Jo Stephenson officially opened the river.

The first springer for the whole Forth District was caught on Friday 10th February, in the Black Hole in Callander on a rapala. The fish was around 7lb and as fresh as they come. There was also other silver fish seen running through the beat the same day. The Black Hole has always been a favourite for spring fish.

Season and day permits are available at a very reasonable cost.
