Last week

(Last updated: Tuesday 28th March)

After a settled winter, Feb and March have been wild, storm after storm has come into the west of the country
and the rivers local to the Esk have been high, low, over the top, just about everything, needless to say there has been little to no real acitvity on the river since it opened.

On the 11 March at Burnfoot, Alan Muse caught his 1st fish of the season. A nice 11/12lb Salmon on a rapala and quickly returned. Well done Alan.

I have not heard anything else since.

This week has had fish caught on the Annan and the Nith, and the Eden has had some good catches at Warrick Hall. If these rivers are beginning to pick spring fish up, the river will no doubt have some fish sneaking in.

It is worth a cast at the moment. Keep and eye on the weather forecast.

Let me know what you are upto.
