A Lesson with an instructor

Here is a brief explanation of what to expect from a lesson.

Your instructor

A qualified instructor will not only have the casting and teaching skills to make you a better angler, but will be fully insured and hold a valid First Aid Certificate. They will also have Enhanced Disclosure and Child Protection Certificates legally required to instruct youngsters to fish.

What you will learn

During the course of your lesson, your instructor will brief you on health and safety issues related to fly fishing and fly casting and will teach you the correct casts for any given wind direction. He/she will explain the casting mechanics of individual casts, will analyse your technique and then suggest improvements to your particular style to achieve energy-efficient water coverage.

How long will it be and how much will it cost?

A lesson with a qualified casting instructor normally lasts from one to two hours and will cost between 30 to 40 per hour. Tips are not expected. For this the instructor will provide a venue and his time and will instruct up to ?? people.
