The River Tyne is very easily reached by the UK's main trunk roads, being approximately 4 hours from London and 4 hours from Birmingham. The A69 runs through the Tyne valley and most of the beats are less than twenty minutes by car from it.
People travelling from the south and west using the M6 should get onto the A69 at Carlisle and head east toward Hexham. Likewise anglers coming from the north should join either the A68 or the A1 and head south.
By air and rail
If travelling by air the nearest airport is Newcastle.
If travelling by train change at Newcastle or Carlisle and join the Newcastle/Carlisle line which provides a regular service with stops at stations in Wylam, Prudhoe, Stocksfield, Riding Mill, Corbridge, Hexham, Haydon Bridge and Haltwhistle.
